Doubt regarding wheel size

:sombrero: My '08 JKUR weighs 5150lbs/5800lbs loaded---6800lbs GVW when towing my off-road trailer--

Brakes are more than adequate even on long downhills (Sierras-I80)--

Maybe you guys bought used jeeps !

Maybe you need to drive something with good brakes...

Throw your age around if it makes you feel better.

As for experience you don't know me so you have no idea.

Let's just say that you calling me "sonny" is inappropriate, unless you like calling everyone around you sonny regardless of age.

<where's that ignore filter again...>

Reece: If you know Jimbo, you know he was only kidding around.
I do imagine he has driving more rigs than many here, however.

I haven't noticed any problems with my brakes towing the conqueror commander, however that trailer does have it's own surge brakes.
IF (BIG IF), I could buy a factory big brake package, ... I would however ... because as you know ... bigger IS better! :)

I think the different "FEEL, with the new JK/JKU brakes is the computer control/w ESP/BDS/Hill Assist/ISC all affect the immediate braking action that we except from our first "brake touch"-

It's not impossible, but is hard to lock all the wheels on a panic stop and I know that feeling, I've done it many times in my GT-40 and Pantera--years ago-

We're talking about a jeep--it's notta car, it's notta truck, the JK/JKUs are different than any vehicle every made and they've been changing little by little ever since 2007-

You push brake--vehicle stop---whats next ?

Compared to a TJ, a JK stops great. Compared to a PW, not so good.
Compared to a MINI Cooper with track tires, it doesn't even seem to stop...

Jimbo drove a submarine. They don't even have brakes.

To add more thrill to all of this :), I did what I should've done in first place and that was, checking the registration papers.

Here in Portugal (I dunno the rest of the countries) you must comply with the tyre size the importer homologated on a given model. Sometimes it's the stock size sometimes, if they're willing, endorse any other sizes. Although I haven't seen any JKs with 16'' wheels, the fact is that the homologation tyre size here is 245/75-16! :Wow1: On the other hand, they have registered also 255/75-17, 255/70-18 and 245/75-17, the later being the normal tyre size on all JKs!

So... any ideas?? :ylsmoke:
