Duluth Fire Hose Pants Testimonials??

My fleece lined appear to have been treated with something. I won't call them water-proof by a long shot, but incidental garden hose spray beads right off of them.

I noticed that too in my fleece lined pants. The snow didn't melt I could just brush it off and they never did get wet after I went inside.

I've been ordering from Duluth Trading Co for a while. Always been happy with the cust service and the quality of the products. Even the coffee mug they sent me as a "gift" has been my all time favorite. I use my firehose pants while running my chainsaw.

I am wearing a pair right now, the ones with the Coolmax mixed in.

The non Coolmax ones should be showing up Friday.

I will have this much to say for them, they are thinner than blue jeans, but tougher IMO.
Been wearing them since Monday at work and they show no signs of dirt like my other pants would, and these are the light colored ones.
The new pair coming are black.

I see no reason why one could not use these for camping/overlanding/expedition use, they are comfortable.

Lots of pockets too for work stuff.
My work cell goes into the left flapped pocket in a pocket for a phone.
Outer pocket closes with Velcro, but I have that flap tucked in (they say you can do this) so I can get to the phone quicker.

I will be buying about three more pairs of these in the non Coolmax ones.
I think the regular Firehose ones have Velcro on the rear pocket to keep the wallet in.
The Coolmax ones do not, and I worry about my wallet falling out.
I have always had a zipper or Velcro back there for the rear pockets.

That is one very importsnt feature I look for in my pants. Not only does it make my wallet more loss-proof but keeps it cleaner too. I often sit in dirt or slide down a bank and end up with rear pockets full of dirt. I have not tried their fire-hoze pants yet but have purchased a lot of DTC products and found them all quite satisfactory.

I can tear through carhartt pants in a matter of weeks, although I still wear them all the time. Way better than jeans, but certainly not indestructible. For those who have these, how do they hold up (or how do you think) to metal fabrication? welding, grinding, cutting, ect? I have set a couple different carhartt jackets (same material as the pants) on fire as of late.

Thats why I quit buying Carhartts. Id tear them up so quickly that it was more economical just to buy levis from WalMart. When I was running my mobile welding rig, I flat out refused to wear Carhartt pants. Theres nothing quite like hanging upside down from an excavator boom while doing a field repair and having sparks going thru your pant legs. My cheap old levis, while they werent by any means fire proof, or even resistant, did a MUCH better job of protecting me!!

LOL!!! That would be a nice feature for me too. My wallet has become kind of legendary at my local bank branch for the amount of dirt that comes out of it and the condition of my ATM card. I have to replace about once a year, and thats waiting for the stripe to become completely rubbed off!!

Im thinking I may have to try out these Duluth pants. Im hard pants and these sound like they might just fit the bill.

OK, I posted in my Deluth thread and the MK thread I have the work pants below.
I have two pairs of the black work pants, and I dig 'em.
Very tough, I climb in and out of heavy machinery all day at the Boeing company and also work outside most of the time.

The cotton is treated with something that stays in even after repeated washings as the rain just beads up on them and you can brush off the water.

I even go for walks here in the rain on our nature trails in the rain, and I do not get wet underneath to the skin like regular jeans would.

I am going to order the light brown ones when they get my size in stock.
For the money these are great and durable pants, and having the Velcro on the rear pockets gives me piece of mind my wallet will remain where I put it.
Work cell phone goes in one of the side pockets.
