Jeff your commentary is great with the pics. I thought your solo shadow pic was funny (I know the feeling). Many years ago when I lived in Colo. I was able to explore an old fire tower it was a blast to climb all the stairs and the view was incredible.

thanks for your trip report

Great job Jeff in having the resolve to wake the wife and move camp...soooo many search & rescue or survival stories start out with either the person being clueless or not being willing to DO SOMETHING about the clues.

Glad to see the FlipPac setup working well in the rain, that was something I have been curious about.

I have to admit, I was bit more foolish when I was single. My wife wanted the flippack for comfort; I like the ease of camp relocation and wet weather performance. It will be interesting to see how if does in snow or prolonged wet :)

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the thread and hope that it motivates you to get out and find new places. I'm happy we siezed the opportunity to get out and do something in the wake of our Glacier trip being scrapped. If anyone is interested in heading out to the Sierra Ancha, I would love to head out again anytime. There are some great hikes that my boots still need to see. I am also looking forward to seeing the Gila Box area again during cooler weather.
