One thing that I have not been able to find on the Eezi Awns are a weight rating. Anyone know what the maximum recommended weight ratings are for the specific models? Thanks

I just recieved an eezi awn 1400, replaced one of our 1200's with it,
its a lot of diference in size.!! plus the matress has zebras ,lions and jirafs LOL , you cant go wroung with the 1400.
one other thing I notice is that the cover comes in a more light green color now. used to be darker.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how hard this is to take on and off your vehicle? Obviously its a two person job, but my concern is convenience....we will not be able to fit the truck in the garage with this on, so I see a lot of on-off-on-off in our future if we were to purchase....not to mention finding somewhere to store it!

The tent adds around 11 inches to the height of the vehicle and rack, so you need to measure you garage door to see if you can get in and out.

We supply a fit kit for the Eezi Awns to allow for quicker fitment and removal.

Many people use a pulley system to lift the tent of the vehicle and store it up against the ceiling in the garage.

Trust me, there is no way it will fit. We just got a new suspension/lift on the truck and with the stock rack I'd say we have maybe another 2-3 inches max before we hit the top of the door. :mad:

What kills me is the height of the garage inside is huge! We could easily store it with a pulley system, but its gonna have to come off first...which is a total bummer because I'm sure its a lot easier to load/unload from directly above!

Heidi-

Ed has a clever way, and has a hoist outside of his garage... I do not recall exactly how your home looked, but I think a similar set up would work. I swear he had pic of his set up posted somewhere on here, and after 30 min of searching I can't find it! You could PM him (DaktariEd) and ask for a pic of his set up.

If you haven't done so already, you might try:

1) making sure the the garage door clears the frame opening as much as possible - some doors hang down into the frame a bit but can be manually pushed/pulled up out of the way so you have the entire height of the door frame to work with...ymmv;

2) airing down your tires - needs a compressor or air tank, of course, but this is how I get in and out of my garage and airing down to 4-6psi works like a charm;

3) ok, I don't really know if this would work, but I wonder if you might be able to compress the springs on each corner with ratchet straps - perhaps someone with a bit more experience could chime in with their opinion on this one.

ha! Remodel the garage with a taller door, or - what the hell - dig a trench in the driveway to get the FJ to dip down enough to get in that sucker.

I think you missed on remodeling technique, lifting the walls of the garage using scissor jacks.

Ya I wish we could just cut another foot off the top and put a new door on, but those custom garage doors get pricey. We don't have any kind of carport cover outside either, so no attaching it there. I like the airing down idea, and we have adjustable coilover suspension, but I'm not even sure that would get us in.

Here you can see we have lots of room to store a RTT:

But not a lot of clearance to get it in:
