El Golfo Sonora Mexico-Rocky Point 4th of July weekend

THis area looks really nice, been reading another posts of El GOLFO to ROCKY POINT.
With all the border crime, It makes you think twice.
Has any one gone around there lately?
I was thinking in going in June, all advise welcome.

I went down for spring break and crossed at Lukevile. The only difference is there is Homeland security officers you talk with prior to crossing into Mexico.

It was great...not a lot of people and on my return trip only 1 (yes 1) car in front of me to cross the border to the US. I have crossed the border at least 75 times at all different times over the years and never had a crossing with only 1 car ahead of me. :wings:

I was down there 3/27-29 with no problems. The road from Riito to El Golfo is a mess, it is being re-done, otherwise a good trip.
