Did you get it from that Fat Bob's site previously listed? They list the black one at 75mm, closer to 3" where as the one you show is only 2 1/2". Just curious.

Good catch.....I did go back and check out the actual strap and the tag clearly says 3m x 60mm or 9.8ft x 2.36in...which is not what is advertised on TJM and Fat Bob's websites. I may send them a note tomorrow asking whats up.

Just keep in mind that when used as a bridle the recovery strap isn't going to have an 8,000kg WLL (assuming that's WLL and not breaking strength), because of the angles.

Also, you won't be using it the way slings (or bridles) are supposed to be used which will further reduce it's capacity because you'll have a tight radius bend in the middle of it, rather than using two straps with loops at both ends.

When winching with two recovery points I use two 6 foot 3/8" wire rope slings, A bridle strap would be much de rated when used alone with the winch line connected to the center as shown in a previous post. That post is showing how much load is on each leg, not how much it can handle....

Yeah, it wasn't a good illustration, but the easiest I could find quickly showing how the angle affects the loading.
With that one you have to extrapolate how for a straight pull you have the capacity of the strap/rope, but when you operate it at an angle the load on each leg increases so you have to derate the strap or rope. Plus some derating if using a single strap with something attached in the middle.

So using it in a straight pull you can have an 8000kg load, but at a 120 degree included angle you can only have a 4000kg load because the load on the strap is doubled.
Yeah, clear as mud.

The legs have to be long enough to not over load them and the connection point has to be free to move along the rope. This is a good use for a short extension cable.
