I can't reach my repeater, but it's cool to see people logging in to the reflector from the irlp site. :)

Edit, just three of you guys?

Edit2: Up to 4 participants.

this was too cool and flowed much better with someone as net control who knew what they were doing...boy did I muck it up last time I was in charge :)
Sorry I couldn't hang out more ...at least I got to check in :)
I had someone else cover my fresh kidney transplant pt while I sat in my FJC in the hospital parking lot scarfing pizza and listening!
Between now and next net I will see if my HT can punch through the walls so I can at least save the walk to the parking lot.
Thanks Mark and Joe!
Once we know the Expo area we should see if there is a way to connect from there and have a special event Expo Net....mid event update :)

My node has been having issues lately and dropped my link at about 8:45. I tried to re-establish, but no dice. Oh well. 73's to everyone on the net!

After I disconnected the link though, there were two Denver guys on the repeater with me who were really interested in what net that was and what we were talking about. We talked for a while. I think my radio is heating up and clipping the last bit of my transmissions. I need to check my SWR.

That was really cool :) Mark, you did an amazing job at being a host. Did you practice or what? You're a natural.

Blake, that was pretty cool to hear your voice coming all the way from Colorado and out of the speaker on the radio in my Tacoma.

David, Michael and Lance - good to hear you guys! Scott, that's weird that you couldn't hear me. I was using 5 watts.

Joe, if you happen to check in here - Thanks again. I was scribbling down all of the info and I'm interested to learn more about the Sinbad group, your CQ100 setup and the helical filters you mentioned.

Chuck, bummer you couldn't get on.

I guess the Prescott contingent let Mark do the technical stuff like connecting the node and you guys just operated the repeater like normal. That is too easy. :shakin:

LOL! Yep, I wasn't even going to connect until Mark told me he was doing all the hard work and all I had to do was push the button and talk. :peepwall: Thanks again Mark.

I listened in

Scott- Why didn't you transmit? Can't you show up somewhere and take a 10 minute test? :peepwall: :shakin:

Surely they give Ham tests in Prescott right? :gunt:

Yes the net tonight was pretty cool. That Joe really knows is stuff.

Lance - don't be so hard on your self. I think I heard you a few weeks ago doing the net when you were trying to get a discussion going on tires? I thought it went pretty well considering most of the people were like myself tonight and doing IRLP for the first time. The delay thing takes a little getting used to.

Having a role call really helps keep the continuity for something like this.

Now i just have to figure out how the DTMF/IRLP thing works on my Icom v8000 - It's not just keying up and punching in the numbers like my Yaesu FT-8800, but the Icom is a far superior radio for 2meter simplex plus the icom lives in my land cruiser.

after to listening to all the ways Joe links things up I got an idea...
next time if I can't get away from work to use the radio I might see about a computer with a mic using echolink to irlp...wow that would be alot of technostuff going on :)

Thanks to eveyone that join in! Joe's got a ton of great ideas.

I'm going to post a revised script for us to use - it really does help keep things on track.

I listened in, and could hear all but Chris, which was odd.

Same here, but he was coming in clear for every one else. I suspect it was due to his proximity to the simplex node. We were able to here him on both his radio and the node at the same time.

I was really hoping to join in on that call, but still have to figure out a way to connect to IRLP. Seems that there's a really big mountain blocking my view of the nearest IRLP repeater. Hopefully before the next ExPo net, I will have figured out the best place for me to drive in order to connect.
