Expedition Seat Covers

Last I checked, they were hard to find?? I like them, and I may get them for the front seats....they will not protect the seats as well as the Wet Okale but the back of the seat cover storage is not a bad trade off!! They are about $100 per seat. Also, being new, they are only for Jeep seats I think. So not a custom fit for me.

They are designed to fit all seats, however in typical Smittybilt fashion market it to only Jeeps. They definitely are not the same quality as Wet Okale, but offer a great storage solution and some seat protection.

Any plans to get some of the tan ones in stock in the near future? These caught my eye and since my last attempt did not work out so well I'm considering other options to cover up my ripped driver side seat...

Yeah they are on order... unfortunately we do not have an ETA at this point... I would guess 2-3 weeks.

Here is my first impressions of the GEAR Seat Covers posted in the Jeep section, I found this post and added it....

Well, a few days has passed with one of them being on......
Not as "Jim Dandy" as first glance would have one believe.
1. One of the shock cords came out of the connector on the hook leaving me to tying it into a knot to hook it back on.
2. Fitting and seat coverage leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to the seat cushion.......(99 TJ Stock Seats)
3. It was such that I only put one on yet the other sat in the box in the garage.
4. The Cordura is coated on the underside. When coated Cordura gets cold it becomes brittle and crackles.....works great in Central & South America. Kinda sucks in Northern Virginia when the temp drops below zero.

Ol well, just like anything on a Jeep...it is time for some mods. I personally think that if the designers had thought about the cover for about 10 minutes longer they would have been right on target.

Current plan is to attach a bungee cord around the seat between the back and seat cushion to help hold the bottom portion of the cover in place. I have a friend with the exact aftermarket seats I am looking at getting and will see what kind of fit I can get on them. Being out of the Jeep will help get it perfect...well, 80% anyhow.

Sorry to sound so negative on these covers but of course this is just my perspective. Others will have their own experiences.

I just installed a set of the GEAR covers in the Tacoma. I will do a review this afternoon.

Well I just picked up two TAN G.E.A.R Seat covers at the Off-Road Show in Del Mar, CA. on Sunday. Sorry Wil if I had known you were going to be caring these I would have purchased thru Sierra Expeditions in a heart beat. I really wanted these to work for me. So today I pulled one out and test fitted it into the Jeep JK. It looks as though it will fit with some patients and creativity. The problem is two fold -- I have side airbags in the seats and secondly the attachments on the rear of the seat are all below my boys knees. I was hoping that I could do some modifications to allow for the airbags so this was not a big problem. The real issue is my two boys have no leg room if I use the seat covers for what they are intended for. So with that I now have 2 TAN GEAR seat covers for sale if anyone wants them.($180.00 + shipping)

I love my Wet Okole covers, very cool people to deal with also.

I have had them for almost 4 yrs and they are holding up great. They made the seats more comfy as a bonus. No fading or smell yet................
