I second what everyone else has said about waiting for a D60. I did this swap several years ago on my F250. I put in a Kingpin D60 out of an '86 F350. It is a relatively easy swap, not much to worry about. The Ford-Trucks (dotcom) forums helped me out a lot when i was preparing for the swap. Good luck.

I agree with the shackle reversal, but want to add that you should use superduty front springs. The ride difference is amazing! There is a lot of articles how to do this one the diesel forums. Super easy and the ride difference is night and day!

I just picked up a solid front axle from a 1993 F350 CC and I only paid $219 at the local pick-a-part salvage yard. It came complete less the driveshaft. I will start with the swap next weekend. I guess I got luck in finding it because I have been looking for one on Craigslist and most people wanted upwards of $1000. Just keep looking around.:victory:

That front axle was mine, I told the yard guy to hold it for me while I went to get my tools:victory:

I will gladly give you your $219 back and I'll even throw in the $2 entry fee:coffeedrink:
