Family City Walk

6.5-7 miles in 3.5 hrours
One 14yr old dog Winnie
One 7mo Preg. Sister in-law and Husband
Me and KK -
One beautiful city walk that starts from my house.

The walk takes us through the old Presidio Army base (inactive) All the way to the Golden Gate Bridge right past all the traffic on Doyle Drive - Actually most of the walk is away from traffic

Past the National Cemetery

The Presidio is full of old buildings

Finally at the Golden Gate bridge and we are starting to feel it.

Passing some of the many old bunkers

Hoods are up as we trudge along towards Baker Beach

Lots of interesting terrain on this walk

There have been lots of Coyote sightings this year. We saw one once in the Presidio

Typical SF summer weather cold and windy but great for a hike.
I got to play with the Nuvi a lot.

We did a full loop -

And now back to the program.

Didn't Hemmingway say.. coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco. When I leved in Sonoma it would be 40 degrees colder at the bay then in in wine country.

Looks like you are correct sort of. It was not hemmignway it was possibly Twain, I guess there is some question wether he made the quote of not. Regardless it makes the point. Nothing like getting to the Golden Gate from and hour away in shorts, t-shirt and sandals and having to don a Gortex parka. I miss Nor Cal.
