Got a question... we are on the road on our first family trip, and I am having a small issue. The springs that I installed on my trailer are off a YJ jeep, and with my trailer loaded they sag so much that my fenders are too close to the tires. Will rearching them fix it? Should a add a leaf to them? It is bad enough that if you pull into a parking lot to fast the tires will rub the fenders. I have a bump stop plan, but ran out of time before the trip. Wondering if these springs a worth messing with or if I should just get something different. I still haven't weighed my trailer, but I bet it is under 1000 pounds.

Smaller tire / taller spring? Not sure....Looked like your trailer sat "fairly" level with no load? How much weight are you carrying? Jeep YJ spring are widely available...may just be a matter of locating additional leafs/springs and doing a little "mix & match" until the right spring rate is achieved?

since your spring hangars and shackle hangar are already welded on I would take the easiest approach and just add a few more YJ springs to the pack until it's stiff enough to take the load you're throwing at it. As common as they are you should be able to pick them up cheap if not free from a 4x4 shop or on a Jeep forum. Anything else is going to take more fabrication. Add the bumpstops but set them to only engage just before the tire hits the fender. They should only see action if you hit a hard bump with a heavy load to keep from tearing things up. I would think shocks are a must if you don't have them.
got a set of 2" lift yj springs for next to nothing, and they are way better. they are a bit to tall, but they have overloads on them, and I am going to take them off, and put my original shackles back on. i think that will make it perfect. i am also going to do shocks for sure. the trailer just completed a 3000 mile trip and was awesome. i want a roof tent for it bad!!!!! the kitchen is a must.... for sure the best thing i built. there will be more info on changes i am making
