Finally!! Direct bolt 1 piece aluminum 20x10 super singles F450/F550

For my future truck plans sake, I hope there is enough interest to get this off the ground @wehring Time to find a business partner or something. This would be awesome as it gives folks some great options. So good luck to you, if things work out I'd be ordering wheels for my future truck.

Ok folks. I have a final quote and design.

These wheels will be forged, made in the USA, 20x10 and one piece with the 10x225 bolt circle.

The front and rear will use the same wheel but flipped around to track properly.
The retail price I will need to sell these at to justify this effort will be $2,000 ea if I buy 100 whees.

Is there enough interest in a 1 piece aluminum wheel for the 10 lug 450/550 and 4500/5500 trucks to make this a good investment?
Sadly I think 10k for wheels alone puts you well outside most of the current market.

These sound great. I just bought a 2021 F450 4x4, do you have any idea what the largest tire I can put on without any modifications?
Thanks

Which Nitto are you running? I have yet to find a LT that is suitable to my rear weight sadly.

Nitto has a 37,38, and 40 with 3970lb load rating.

Toyo has a 40 at 4190lb rating, and a 37 at 3860lb.

Just depends how far you are willing to load or over load the rears... I know that a ton of toyotas and jeeps are well over gvw, but when the wet weights are in the mid to high teens, there are more serious concerns. That said...

Run it. 8k of rear axle weight is a lot anyway.

Questions about these wheels though.

What's the offset/backspacing on these? You had said that the cab and chassis is a different rear axle width from the pickup bed model. What will the track width difference e for each one?

What lug nuts will they be drilled for?

Any chance for a larger safety bead or ridges like the Method Bead Grip tech? Non beadlock wheels are nice, but it is nice to be able to air down as much as possible.

Thanks for doing the leg work o. These, hope it goes well for you.

Thanks Ross

Thank you for the reply rc413. I missed the recent posts.

yes, 8000# will be your new rear axle limit with LT bead tires like Nitto.

if you need more rear axle capacity then you need to stick with an MPT bead. They have tires rated for 6770# ea in the 335/80r20 size. The down side is that they have a very slow speed rating of 68 mph (80 mph for the G275 tire) and they are very heavy at 141# compared to a nitto 40” tire at 78#

i will soon have pictures of these wheels on chassis cab trucks and also factory pickup bed trucks. We split the difference between the track width differences to support both with minimal track differences. Pics to come very soon.

Doing some basic measurements on the super 60 in my basement, and knowing ford, no matter which chassis, I would assume a slightly narrower rear?

Also hoping for full tire coverage with the stock 450/550 fenders?

Last one...

You have done very extensive testing (thank you) do you like the Toyos or the Nittos more?

Thanks Ross

I am sorry to say that no matter which tire you choose, you will need wider fenders.

I used McNeil Racing fenders but Buckstop also makes a nice fender flare.

you can reuse the factory lug nuts and center caps

we can help to guide you all the way through your build.

i am a STRONG believer in the Nitto brand. They have earned my loyalty. It is true that Toyo owns Nitto but the Nitto brand tires are easier to balance. I have ran 35, 37, 38 and 40” tires by nitto and none have taken more then 6 oz to balance. It may have been +\- an ounce. Reciting this from memory, but it was not much.
They ride fantastic on a 450/550 truck!

feel free to text me at 979 997 3112 and I will send a video of my truck running 75mph at 1600 rpm. Nice smooth ride.

dont know how to attach a video here

And Yes, the bead sits in a recessed “pocket” around the rim to help it stay in place when aired down.

Front and rear track at 92”. They run much nicer on the road then the multi piece wheels and discount tire was able to mount the tires for me. I never found a tire shop to work on the multi piece wheels.

335/80r20 MPT81 and wheel weight 179#

wheel is 59#
