First expedition/camping trailer advice

Hi

I'm planning on building my first trailer. I've thought through what I want and have a solid chassis on which to build. My question is for the frame what size box section 25 x 25 Mm or 50 x 50 mm as I want to fit a roof tent and 270 awning. Any advice would be great. Thank you.

Hello,

I guess it would depend on the width of your selected chassis/track and the height you intend to install the RTT. Ive seem several builds that use 25mm and thought out triangulation. Done properly, it is very stong and can be reasonably light. Also think about your skinning material and thickness. That can add serious strenght to a structure.

Also keep in mind the percieved total end weight. Not only for the axle rating of the chassis, but the capability of the tow car!! Particularly if you are going to fill it up and drag it offroad
