Been looking at canopies for the trailer.. I would love a steel frame covered in canvas but that looks like a very expensive option! Option 2 is the ute canopy from ebay from $50 onwards, im not sure of the look of it though?!?!?

What do you think? seen any good/bad examples of either?

Or the tradie top? (also expensive)

I think the canvas looks really nice. I am thinking of having one made for my ute bed using the lumber racks as primary support.

Hey

Nice looking trailer. One thing I would suggest might be to consider stronger axle if you are going to do much off-roading or carrying heavy loads. Something about 2500lbs starting, with 3500lbs better. If only hauling medium loads thn the one you have may be just fine. Great find just the same.

Had an event this weekend so i decided to bring the trailer and give it a test... its yet to be painted but i have put the new tailgate on and wired up some new LED tail lights..

was very happy with the way it towed when loaded. Took it up a very steep/rutted clayish track and it went great!

anyway some pics...

new fenders are 2inch wider than the old ones so they cover the tyre now. they cost me $40ea so pretty happy with that!

Nice fenders. Do you have any pictures of them looking at then stright-on from the side? Do you plan to keep the fenders "as is" or are the going to get trimmed a little?

Keep up the good work!!

Hey Mike, Ill take a picture at some stage today, had the work christmas party last night and i can barely read the computer screen so ill see how it goes!!

As for trimming yeah i probably will but ill wait til i have the bars on as its hard to judge "the look" at the moment

Well havnt posted an update for the trailer for ages so heres what ive been up too..

Welded on some brush bars to help when those trees jump out at you on the trail! I started making a canopy also. The plan is to add a roof top tent, spare tyre carrier, jerry cans etc down the track.

The canopy is still a work in progress, still needs horizontal bars to tie it all together and theres a few welds that need attention.

The swampers are only temporary, they look chunky but are too wide and handle like crap when towing.

anyway pics..
