About 20,000 miles. I'm planning on what to take as far as spare parts. I'm thinking a fuel pump and filter for starts. I have the tools, tires tubes covered. Any of you planned a long trip on a 690? Thanks

Check ADV rider there are a few guys that have done RTW and TDF trips on the 690. They have a lot of info that would work for you. Ride Safe...

I've contacted several riders that did RTW on the 690 so I'm getting a good list. I sold a few extra bikes and toys so I have the funds. The biggest obstical was the wife but she's on board with it now. I'm been kind of interviewed for a 3 man team but the fact is if I don't make the cut I'm still going. This should be interesting.

take a carb bike. Sorry, couldn't resist :)
My 690 had so much fuel system drama that I lost confidence in riding it to the gas station before I sold it.
Certainly not typical, but frequent enough with others to be cause for concern.
Become a master of KTM EFI before you leave. Pack a laptop with the EFI programer hardware/software if you want to prevent prolonged resort stays at the garage :)
When they run, there are few bikes that provide as much fun.
When they get sick, you will wish you were a factory trained technician.
