Selling my 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series 2. I have had it for the last 6 years or so, and have been on many awesome adventures with it. Our family has recently decided to adopt, so some toys have to go up for sale to help pay for the costs involved.
I normally hate to sell something that is not in working order, but unfortunately it wouldn't make a lot of sense for me to have this repaired before selling it. That being said, the engine has an issue that I have not fully diagnosed yet. It runs fine, but has exhaust gases leaking into the coolant system which results in the hoses expanding and eventually rupturing. It does not overheat. It could just be head gaskets, or it could be a cylinder sleeve is leaking into the coolant system, or possibly a cracked block. Because this is an unknown, I have priced it accordingly. It starts and runs, and can be driven a short distance, but you will need a trailer to get it home.
It also has an ABS sensor that needs to be reset, its something that was tripped on my last trip off-road. The ABS and traction control still work, so I think it just needs to be reset. This requires a special tool to diagnose that a European shop will likely have, or you can purchase one and do it yourself.
Aside from those issues, it is decent condition. It has normal wear and tear from being off roaded, dents, scratches, etc. Also has a cracked windshield, just out of sight line. Interior is in good condition, some tears on one of the rear seats. I removed the subwoofer in the rear door because it was rattling, but I still have it and its included. I also took out one of the jump seats for more cargo room; its in good shape and included.
