FS: Project M116A3 Expedition Trailer (Manhattan, KS)

I started this project a couple of years ago and just don't have the time to complete it. The trailer started as a M116A3 military trailer in great condition. I took all the worn and/or heavy bits off of it and replaced with ones more suited for this application. What is left to do is wire the inside for lighting, water pump, outlets, (any other items you'd like), skin it, put on custom size doors (i planned on using Challenger RV doors), add roof rack, tent and go. Below is a list of what has been done and is included

- Removed pintle hitch and had receiver professionally installed. Includes max coupler hitch
- Rewired entire trailer with 7 pin, LED tail lights, and marker lights. Drum trailer brakes. All connectors sealed marine grade and in wire loom
- Installed hitch receive on back of trailer for bike rack.
- Bed liner entire trailer deck and frame. Camper frame is not bedlined where the skin would be attached to ensure adhesion
- Replaced heavy Army axle with torsion axle rated for 2750 lbs. The hardware is rated for 3500 but the tubes are cut for 2750 capacity for ride quality
- Had frame cut and welded to spec by professional welder
- Used baltic burch for inside walls/dividers. It has been sealed. My sons artwork on the rear wall can of course be removed by sanding and stained over if not appreciated
- Custom aluminum wheel spacer to center 33" wheels under wheel wells. Electric Drum brakes. 16" mammoth Rims. 285/75/16 KO2s with maybe 1k miles on them. Wrangler 5 lug bolt pattern
- Custom 30 gallon water tank to fit into the space. Includes water pump pictured. The plan was to lay a piece of baltic burch over the top of the water tank, onto the brackets installed to make use of the storage space accessible from both sides. The passenger side opening could have a water heater installed as the opening should be the right size for most heaters. I was going to use a portable heater initially.
- Water fill opening on passenger side, shower hook up opening on the front drivers side.
- Front opening was meant for batteries, control panel and utility storage. Passthrough closest to the front of the trailer for a pull out kitchen. Pass through over water tank. And then the storage at the back of the trailer would be accessible by a large swing out door on the back.

This trailer pulls very very well. We had a CVT Mt Denali tent on top of it for camping a few times and it worked amazing. Our Pioneer Extended Denali CVT Tent is also for sale separately ($1,500 in the tent section).

Asking $2,800 for the trailer with hitch, tires, rims, water tank, pump, fill, shower hose thing. Everything photo'd as you see it. Pickup only in eastern KS. Let me know if you have questions!!
