um, that looks awesome. Do you have a build thread over here? That woodwork is very unique and love the vintage steel wheel look.

Bumping a great old thread. Just bought this thing. Plans are full tune-up, 2 inch suspension lift with 30" KO's. Needs seat upholstered and tranny rebuilt but in great shape overall with 35k original miles. :D

35K miles!
How awesome is that!

Looks beautiful, I've never seen the woodgrain done like this. Very cool idea.

Yep! Little 90 year old man owned, used to go to the Dr and the market. It looks better in pictures, that "woodgrain" is a 20 footer. Hahahah

This is my friend's dad's daily. Belonged to his dad as a hunting truck and around the town truck, it sat for quite a few years before he bought it and pulled it out to get it back on the road. He's keeping it stock, that's the original paint. Its a 258 4 speed truck. Now I'm in real trouble cause I've sat in it and now I need a FSJ twice as bad.

Holy cow... Last time I posted in this thread I think I was still stationed in Germany! How time flies...
Guess I can post my current FSJ now as it's moving towards daily driver status.

This is my 77 Cherokee S. I've had it 2 years in June, done a ton of work to make it safe/reliable (still working on that part!:sombrero: ) Pretty much stock except for an HEI conversion and a 4 inch lift.

I did add rock sliders and a swing away spare tire set up so I can carry extra fuel for trips. This thing is thirsty!

Redid the interior with not stock seats (originals were gone) Still have to add the A/C ducts back in this pic.

I removed the rear seat permanently so I can sleep back there if I want. I extended the floor a few inches forward for more room.

There is a guy in Toledo, or used to be at least, who had a Franken-Jeep, someone had grafted the rear of a Cherokee and the front 2/3rds of a GW. Had a 500 Caddy motor under the hood. For some reason which I never understood, after all that work, it was painted a pale, non-descript shade of yellow. It was a beast, looked to bigger than an Excursion!

The previous owner of our house owned this one. I tried to include it in the offer but he wouldn't go for it. :D

Never had one, but ALWAYS wanted one.

I live in CA so I'd like a pre-smog one. And it has to have a good body. I don't care if it has any running gear.

Anybody know of a good one for sale?

This is beautiful. Goals right here. Where did you source your bumper/sliders?

Nice! You have the same color interior as my 77 came with. I redid the seats with covers from http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/.

Thanks for this link, that looks awesome! Might have to try that instead of going to the upholstery shop!

That sounds awesome! There's one that kind of sounds like that in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6CwBtO3lvI
