FWC (Grandby) vs. Second Place

Although a FWC Grandby is my first choice in truck campers, due to the relative lite weight and reportedly durable construction, so far I have had no luck finding one. I'd like opinions on a "second choice" truck camper with weight of the camper the major consideration. The camper's home is a F250, 5.4 V8. To save weight, I would consider removing, for example, a dinette or making other weight saving arrangements. I won't do any serious off-roading. From time to time, I may want to tow a 3000 lb trailer, thus the need for the light weight camper. Suggestions? Budget of approximately $5000?

I personally own a Northstar that is about the same size as a Grandby, I use it with my F250. This camper is not light by any sense of the imagination, it causes the truck to act like a boat in a heavy swell, and increases my diesel consumption dramatically. Nicely outfitted, but it's like driving a brick. My advice is to keep looking or try to increase your budget
