Garmin base camp

I have a Garmin 60c i am thinking of up grading but it still works fine so I cant justify the money yet. Can I load Garmin base camp onto an tablet and plug the 60 in and use the tablet for navigation? I want a system that has all the maps loaded and dose not need any form of data connection to work non stop.

Thank you for the help

Kind of bridging two worlds. There are programs for using your 60c as the gps device, and mapping on a laptop. I dont think basecamp supports live tracking at all. Android or Apple tablets wouldnt run programs like BaseCamp, there might be a windows based tablet that will though.

Most new tablets have gps built in. So all you need to do is find an app you like. It really simplifies the whole setup. One device, any where. Just need to figure out a mount.
No more mounting a laptop (which takes a ton of space) then running wires everywhere for power and GPS units.
