Generator ban in California?

Regcabguy

Oil eater.
I lived in Alberta, maybe the natural gas capitol on North America. Incredibly affordable heating thru the 1970s and 1980s. Then we ran a pipeline toCalifornia. Literally the day the line was connected our Alberta gas rates doubled. The logic of globalizarion, if we can sell it for $20 in California we are going to charge $20 here too. Our heating bills doubled.

The other side of Corporate thinking is labour. If we can get it built in China for $20 we are not going to pay North Americans $40.

Hopefully we eventually see the light and bring back ..... France got it right.

Normally you pay more for your own oil than we do and it's yours.

How does this work ?
Offhand...
1 diesel gallon US burnt to a perfect ratio creates around 10kg of CO2.
Gasoline creates about 9kg.
Sorry I did not go in to it well enough,

So to covert MPH to Km's per Imp Gallon to US Gallons and then in to Gram/Kgs

@64.2mpg X 1.609km = 103.2978kms per Imp Gallon/4.55L.
103.2978Kms / 4.55 Litres = 22.7028131868 Ks per Litre.
1 US Gallon = 4 Litres +/- .
22.7028131868 X 4 = 90.8112527472 kms X .118gm = 10.7157278241 Kgs Per US Gallon
@90.8112527474 Kms is equal to 56,4395604395 MPG per US Gallons.
@ 15 US Gallons Tank Capacity gives it a fuel range of 846.593406592 Miles.

Which is close to your Near perfect Burn Rate.

Hope that explains it,

If I drive like Miss Daisy I can increase the MPG and reduce those those emissions a fraction more.

I live in the mountains and we lose power fairly often. Snow, rain, and now every time it’s windy. I have a small generator but it’s dual fuel. I actually just bought it because SCE is offering $250 rebates since they’re so fond of turning off the power every time the wind blows. in 40+ years of living here, I can survive without a generator. But a snowblower? That’s something I’m not willing to go without.
