GMC 3500 7.4L 4x4

I'm going to look at a 1 Ton 4x4 gmc Passenger van this evening. Any thing in particular I should check for like typical locations for rust or common problems on these big block 454s. I'm pretty sure it's a quigley but I'll check when I'm there.

Any insight to this bohemeth? Thanks!

I don't know exactly, but I'm pretty sure 98-02 because of the 7.4. Did they make a factory 4x4 van?

I had to trailer a race car with a 7.4 and I thought I actually could see the gas gauge moving every mile while driving.

No. Closest would have been an aftermarket upgrade sold through a dealer ala Quigley.

7.4L = 454 ci which was made from 1970 or so to 2002 or so. Called the Vortec 7400 from 98-02.

GM made (makes?) full-time AWD fullsize vans in the Express body-style in 1500 and 2500 series but no "4x4" with two-speed transfer case. Also AWD in the Astro body-style but again, full-time, single-speed transfer cases only.
