It's a hybrid, and the whole electrical system is integrated. The same diesel generator supplies power for what they call LiveMode and DriveMode. There are also 6 square meters of solar panels to supplement the generator.
I always thought that would be a cool idea for an expedition vehicle - electric motor to drive the truck plus wind, solar, and diesel generator to keep the batteries charged. With enough of the wind and solar you could be nearly energy independent, though daily range might be limited.
Too bad it's not real..and the ground clearance is a bit low!
