I stopped by a Saks Off 5th Ave last week (I need a new suit and they often have some very good deals) and spotted some Desert Boots in the clearance section. They are the "Saks 5th Ave" labled version but are very well made withe the natural rubber crepe sole, heel counter and a cork layer between the sole and insole. (I'm not sure if Clarks even has this) They are in sand and brown suede both with the light color sole and at 60% off where about $50 so about 1/2 what Clarks cost. They are stamped "Made in Spain" so I'm not sure if it is the same factory that makes Clarks or not but I've found them to be very comfortable so far. If your thinking about some Desert Boots and have a Saks Off 5th Ave (their clearance store) nearby it might be worth a stop.
