Got a Hi-Lift jack story?

I learned to "off-road" working on my aunt and uncle's farm. To do that, you need an old Dodge or Ford 2wd pickup - and a Hi-Lift.

This may have been due in part to:
A) The perception that 4-wheel drive is what sissies use to get through a rough patch and to drive where maybe you shouldn't be.
B) The 4x4 Willys stuck in the mud on the north side of the home pond, from my very first memory to I'm pretty sure the hulk is still sitting there. And I'm over 50.
C) The farm is in walking distance of the Hi-Lift Jack Co.

60" cast jack

My trusty hi-lift has gotten me out of more stucks than I care to remember. Using the jack, some PSP, a dynamic strap, and my Rangie, I've freed a Dodge dually diesel flatbed, a Dodge 1500 on 35's, and the HMMWV that came to help the previous two, from desert sand. All in an afternoon's work.. The jack has kept me from having to walk many miles back to civilization more than once, and has been used to help recover a toyota rockcrawler that was rolled on its side and out of reach of other vehicles. Also the only thing tall enough for a tire change on the trail if you're driving a Unimog..

Well I had to change out 3 u-joints last week, after I got back home with the joints, I realized I didn't have a c-clamp to install the cups.... out came the hi lift. job fixed and that was the easiest pressing I have ever done :wings:
