Got some vintage style wheels for my JK

In my quest to break out of the mold and not have my Jeep look like every other Jeep out there, I thought I would take a page out of the old school Jeep look and go with white wheels. I found some really cool wheels while looking around online from a company called Wheel Vintiques. I ordered them from Summit Racing and had them in no time. I had to grind the caliper a bit to fit the 15x8 wheels, they barely made contact. They come in primer finish so I had a local paint supply store mix me up some Stone White enamel and put it in spray cans for me. I love how it came out, and they are very affordable!

Here are some of my favorite shots that a friend of mine was able to take the other day.

Thanks for noticing the bumper! :) When I built it a few months ago I caught a lot of flak for it being ugly. I love it though and it's very functional. I had the same thought about it matching the vintage of the wheels. I think the bumper looks more at home now.

Now you need to change out the rear bumper for something more vintage...

Looks great!

Yes they come in many sizes and bolt patterns and backspacing. When I found them I was surprised I hadn't heard of anyone running these wheels before.

Who the heck cares what others think, far better to build it yourself than rack up debt on a credit card buying one that a thousand other JK's are running.

Oh yeah, I don't care what other people think, that's why it's still on there. :) It already saved me once when some guy in an F250 decided to back up into me at an intersection. he smashed his bumper all up into his tailgate and made a mess of his truck. My bumper literally had a scratch in the paint. Which I fixed when I got home and you can't even tell.

Thanks Espo. x2 on the underrated.

Are you keeping the grill Silver or is it goin' White also?

I have the stock white grill. It was a litle beat up so I plastidipped it black. I liked the look for awhile but then it started looking ragged so I peeled it off. I found the silver grill on craigslist. Its a 2013 Billit Silver color. I bought it to paint or bedline black but I think I like the silver enough to keep it around for awhile. Some one mentioned once that it gives it that old school chrome look without being chrome. I kinda see where he's coming from.
