GPS Video Filter

Just a quick video of me testing my GPS video filter using a webcam hooked up to my 1000HE Netbook. It allows for video to be shot with an overlay of your GPS coordinates and altitude info.
Fun stuff, makes it seem like video is taken from a patrol car or the HUD on an aircraft. :)

I can think of many different uses for this.

Quick note: The video is fast because the way it was converted for Youtube. The actual video is fine, if just a little choppy.

GPS/Video Overlay

Very nice, can you expand a bit on how you set it up? Software/hardware etc.

Also, can the overlay font be made smaller?

My Setup:
Hardware
-Asus EeePC 1000HE mounted in my Tacoma
-Any POS webcam will do.
-USB GPS Receiver
Software:
Xport Link
GPS DirectShow Filter Link

Both are free but the programmer accepts donations.

The font size/style, video resolution, codec, and many other aspects are adjustable. I just started toying with it but you can customize it until it works for you.

Well I do have a crummy GPS receiver so it could be off a little. :ylsmoke:

But in actuality this made me notice that my speedometer is slow by a few MPH. It will be useful when I put larger tires on so I can tell what my actual speed is. :smiley_drive:
