Green green green Colorado!

Well, there's a story there. Connie and I actually started the trip in the RRC. Then going up the canyon (first time pulling a steep grade since I had her all back together) the temp started rising. Stopped to cool, carried on, and it happened again. So we bailed out, went back to the house and I took the 110. The RRC is in line to get a radiator swap now . . .:coffee:

cheers

I think the RR stands for Relationship 'Recker. :hehe:

The reason everything is so green is we keep getting these storms rolling in everyday. You can see at the top of the pic some rotation.... This thing tried to start up a tornado right over my house (its kind of disturbing when you see this just as the TV announces a tornado warning at your nearest major intersection).

We traveled through the Eastern Plains of CO a couple of days ago. It's the greenest I can remember, having lived in Colorado for about 20 years before retirement.

We drove around one big cell that the NWS was watching closely, but no twisties.

I already posted a picture in this thread so can't post it here.

:snorkel:It's raining again.

I think I'll move somewhere a little drier, like Florida, or the Amazon.

Growing up in the foothills of the Front Range, the summer rains annoyed me to no end; felt like my summer months--those cherished mountain months--were being washed (literally) away. Living in AZ now however, it sounds like a little bit of heaven :) Grass is always greener?

Great pics everyone! I am huge weather watcher, and those sky pics are scary yet amazingly beautiful at the same time. I really like Colorado and plan on making the move there someday. I do agree though, that non-stop rain can get a little annoying.

And again :snorkel: I'm thinking of building an ark. I am a Colorado native and I don't ever remember this many days in a row of rain (or this many tornado warnings). At least the last few days it's been sunny most of the day.

Yea you guys are getting some crazy weather out there right now. I had heard that you are already above the normal number of severe thunderstorm and tornado watches/warnings for this time of year.

For certain on the tornado warnings. We've been getting lots of 10-20 minute storms of the "Holy cow, I can't see the house across the street" variety and then it quits till the next day.

I'm happy we are getting all of this moisture and having such a green spring. The tornados on the other hand....

Here are some pictures I took mountain biking at Horsetooth in Fort Collins after work. This is part of the front range that is adjacent to the eastern plains. I normally only see grass this green down in San Juans. Of course I got rained on...again.

Well, I was thinking of moving to Colorado sometime. I guess I need to make sure I don't get a mobile home. :D

How often does this occur? Pretty cool, but scary its so close to your guy's homes.

Tornados along the front range (Colorado Springs, Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins) are pretty rare. Usually they severe weather doesn't materialize until the storms get a bit further out into the plains.

I'd say I've been hailed on half a dozen times in the 10 years I've lived here... 3 of those were in the past week.
