You can get some Button Head bolts, which will be rounded like a carriage bolt but have a hex drive used to tighten them. Best of both worlds. You can stiffen up the plate but welding some angle iron pieces on the top side, between the cross members (but not too the cross members). I would run pieces front to back, on the outside edge and the middle. Then I would put a piece at an angle between the outer and middle pieces. Kinda like this |\|/| Place the open part of V onto the plate, so the point end is sticking up.

That totally sucks! It's one thing to have a part go bad, as even new stuff can be bad but to have that many wiring issues from the production side, very sad to hear.

Back in the beginning of days of FiTech, I got their very first GoStreet EFI injection system. After almost 8 years... it is still sitting in the box it came in. There were just too many reliability issues, that people were having and I followed along for 3-4 years. I despise unreliable vehicles and every time I thought I would swap out a carb to put this EFI on, I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Hope they get everything figured out.

Sorry about your troubles, but yes, FI tech has been a reliability nightmare since inception. Hopefully you get it figured out. If not, I'd hope they would give you a full warranty replacement or money back for a different system.

The biggest issues being the mislabeled O2 sensors ...

I ran into this with my LS (4.8) swap in my FJ60 Landcruiser, and it caused quite a headache for a day or 2 when I first got it running/driving...!!

Was my own fault - Mine weren't mislabeled, as I did the entire harness myself...they just went to the wrong side when I dropped the harness down over the bellhousing. Oops.

Chased my tail for a couple days, finally realized that it ran perfect when in closed loop and terrible when in open loop. Posted a note on my build thread over on 'Mud, and a guy mentioned he had a similar issue, identical to yours. Mislabeled harness.

I swapped them L to R, and it's been perfect ever since.

Anyway, posting here to add a data point, and to say good work so far!

No way, thats parked in front of my house in Phoenix!! Does your friend live on that street? We just bought the house a month ago and all our neighbors have been super friendly and welcoming!
I think they were staying in an AirBNB as they live in OR. He's a racing buddy and sent it to a number of us and I said, "I think I know that rig". We're not too far way - probably a few miles - 15th Ave. and Glendale area.

I need to go back and read this entire thread but from what I have seen nice job. I am a diehard squarebody guy and now you have me thinking. My current rig is a 1st gen tundra with a northstar but I am now on the hunt for a four wheel blazer camper lol. Yours is absolutely amazing.

Oh man, that is painful. Sorry that happened. I had an event like that once with the garage door. Unfortunately it happens.
