It's fun to go to the ARRL site, the callsign search (just click the "GO" near the top of the home page), then search on your own zip code. That will bring up hams in your area. Even in my rather rural location there are 38 listings.

Ha, the exact same thing happened to me after I passed my exam. For some reason I never noticed that the guy across the street had a large tower with a big 3 element yagi on top. Maybe that's because I didn't even know what a yagi was? Now every time I look out my window there it is.
