HHIRunner's Dad's 2015 Tacoma Build

So start with some brief history I guess. My Dad has always been a truck guy, in my 19 years he's owned 12 that I can think of, however he's never modified any of them. I figured it was time to change that. He was driving a 2010 F150 which was starting to have obvious issues with the drivetrain so I hassled him to trade it for a Tundra for about a month. Finally he decided to sell it but not for a Tundra.

So on November 22nd, my Dad picked up his new 2015 V6 Automatic TRD Offroad.

I've been trying to think of a catchy name for this build over the last few days similar to Blackdawg's Dad and the FRV, but nothing has coming to me thus far.

Also I may have convinced him to buy some parts right away. So without further adieu the only pictures I have until I either get back to the states or my sister takes some for me.

The truck should see its first dirt December 12th

I forgot how nice and shiney everything was under there when my truck was new... I clean the undercarrage every now wnd then, but it is no where near that good looking when I get done! I have noticed a few surface rust areas on various parts of the frame, and suspension componets such as the LCA, and shock tower. They look like the rust that develops on the brake rotor when the vehicle is not used for a length of time. I just took some black wheel paint, and touched up a few places.

He did good with the suspension selection. He should be able to dial in the driver side front in the event his truck develops the "tacoma lean". I have an OME kit, and I installed the shims under both the driver and passenger side. Now I have to take the passenger side apart and remve the shim to get the truck to lean a little less. Good thing I like tinkering with stuff!

Haha I made all the decisions for him, I've been around TacomaWorld for a while and know my fair share of info about them so it was pretty easy to make a solid choice on his setup. And yeah I'm jealous of his frame.

Awesome looking truck! Great brand choices!

Is that Windrock in Tennessee? If so, are guys on blue or black trails? Just curious as my Dad lives in Oak Ridge and I just recently discovered the place. Wondering what I can take my fairly stock taco down.

Thanks!

Yep that is Windrock on TN, and I'd be careful with a fairly stick rig, the obstacles out there get tough fast and their trail difficulty ratings aren't very good.
