Homemade RTT

My first post here. What do y'all think? 8' roof. 1' riser. 7' floor. Made with 2x2s. Plywood. Hinges and an old tent. It shouldn't be much thicker than the width of a 2x4 when collapsed.

Do y'all think the roof being wood will be a problem with rain?

Shouldn't be a problem as long you seal it. Look for marine grade paint or something of that quality

It may be a few bucks more, but I have had great results with CPES (Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealant).

Make a mock-up from cardboard and paper or foil, you'll probably find you either tear the material or it'll be really loose and baggy around the lower hinge for the riser.

You're completely right. I just thought about it in my head opening and closing. I might just get rid of the 1 foot section and make a triangle. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I might see if I could make it where it snaps loose on the floor so I can keep my design but idk yet. Thanks tho!!
