Honda showed a concept motorcycle at last month's show in Osaka. It's called the Cross Cub 110. Let's hope Honda decides to import these to USA!
It looks like a modern version of Honda's smallest motorcycle, which has been sold worldwide since the 1960s. Lots of people had their first taste of off-pavement riding on a Honda Trail 90.
There are several published reports of people riding this sort of motorcycle on long distance trips.
Here's a story of an Irishman who rode from Alaska to Argentina http://hondavstheworld.com/
Here's a site that details an Aussie who rode from Sydney to London. http://www.thepostman.org.uk/
Here's the web pages of Ken Preston, a Seattle native who takes trips in Southeast Asia by motorbike to study techniques of wooden boat building http://www.boatsandrice.com/About.html
Of course, ADVRider has been all over this story for weeks
