IMO, if your camping out of a car/truck you should get a big tent. I really like these:

Springbar Tents

This one is nice but way out of my price range.

In my experience, tents are always under sized. Meaning if they say it's a 2 man, plan on being really cozy with your tent mate. So with that in mind I always shoot for bigger than the planned amount of people.
I have a Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight thats supposed to be a 2man. NO WAY> Thats my solo backpacking tent. 4lbs set up in about 5 min.
I have a Sierra designs Comet CD which is supposed to be 2-3 man 3-4 season tent. Well it will fit 2 men with no room to spare. 6-1/2lbs set up in about 10min
I have a REI Taj 3 that we use as a car camping tent for the family. It hold the 3 of us comfortbly. 8lbs set up in about 10 min
And now we have the Eezi-Awn 1800 on our trailer. It fits the family comfortably and set up is less than 5 min. 147lbs

Brads tent setup is AWESOME. I've only seen pics, but I'm jealous. I've heard, though, that it takes him some time to really set it up.

Seems the standard practice in sizing backpacking tents is to count the number of sleeping pads (20 x 72") will fit.

Some tent users want to maximize floor space and/or height, others want to minimize weight.

'4 man' seems about right for 2 people who are car camping, especially if they want to use a 'full size' air mattress (4x20"=80" wide). If you want room to dance as well as sleep, then look for a standup vestibule, or 6+ man.

Oh yeah. No way would I set the entire tent up for a one night stay. To justify the full set up, I have to be one place for a few days with weather that also justifies it. :costumed-smiley-007

Next Sunday I leave for a 7 day stay at one campsite. Definitley going for the whole shabang. :jumping:
