I have been going to go that route with my CJ trailer. I ending up using the spare fuel tank in my rig, so it's back burnered.
Stock Toyota fuel tank in the factory location, holds between 15-18 gallons if I remember right (I've never topped it off). I have an electric fuel pump plumbed into the system to transfer the fuel over the the truck, it also has a fuel shut off valve and filter. I mounted the battery on the opposite side to help offset the weight.
