I did my own hood blackout.

All taped up and ready to spray :ylsmoke: Matching the hood lines of the discovery is a real pain to get right though.

1st coat of matt black applied :jumping: Hope the phone is quiet for the rest of the day - I may even be able to get it finished tonight.

GRIOT'S GARAGE Spray On Bra - The review:

It came in the mail at 5pm. I had it on by 6pm. I promise I didn't rush, it was just really quick and easy. I will say, you have to be Picasso with a paint can to get it on evenly. I also wish I had ordered 2 cans. One can is said to be enough to cover 12 square feet. I have a couple thin spots that I imagine will make the removal a little challenging. They say you have to pull up your masking tape while the spray is still wet if you want a clean line. No kidding, you have about 4 minutes from the time you stop spraying to the time you need to be pulling the masking tape. I've got some jagged lines, but probably only something i notice.

It really is FLAT black. It should cut glare exceptionally well.

I did order the roll of masking plastic ($9) and really think that is a good call. I used electrical tape for the primary masking since it curves better than standard masking tape. Finding the right placement of the masking line is really tough if you don't have a keen eye.

Now, if it peels off as easily as they say it does, I'd say it makes a perfect temporary hood blackout at a cost of $40 with shipping.

Looks good to me :punk03: - Not sure if it will work the same but the spray lines should come out with a really fine wetndry (use bar soap as well). I like it :victory: Great choice of colour BTW

Wet'n'dry won't work. This stuff is rubber. Well, actually it's latex. I could see a dozen uses with this product. I'm going to order another can and see if a thicker application won't look better. The instructions say to apply 1/8" thickness if using it as a bra. My application was pretty thin.

Yeah boy! I am thinking of making a tire print and then applying it over the hood or down the side of the truck.

Alright how durable is this stuff? How long will it last?
thanks
Day 4 and she still looks good. Seriously, I've read reports of this stuff lasting several months before needing another application. Honestly, in a few months I might tire of it and just peel it off anyway. That's the beauty of it so far. It's temporary.

Thanks for your feedback. I just bought a few cans to try out too. :)

I'm curious- did you test how easy it would be to peel off before your sprayed the whole hood? It sounds like a pretty cool product.
