I found a stolen FJ60 today -

I found a MUD members stolen rig today on my way to a HAZMAT training and beach cleanup - I notified the cops and is sounds like the dude will be getting his truck back - http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=186101 -
and my post on the find report is Post#81 -

I wish the guy had left his phone number so I could have called him - I would have waited with the truck - since he didn't leave a Phone# I emailed him from my blackberry and went for the cops because I didn't want to take a chance on the thief coming for it in the mean time.

I still can't believe it..

I had an older 80 toy 4x4 stolen from my driveway one night. It's a sinking feeling to step outside and your truck isn't where you left it...

I got the word out to my friends, one doing his job as a city building inspector saw it the very next day and called the cops. Couldn't get a hold of me in a timely manner (hey, this was pre-internet / pre-cellphone days), so I had to pay to get the truck out of impound. But hey, I did get the truck back... Minus a few personal possessions.

I'll bet the owner is extremely grateful...

Yep same with my 85 Toy - Stolen outside my girlfriends house - It took a few weeks but I did have to pay some big fees because when the cops notified me I was on a job out of state for another week - The storage fees were quite high but the truck was in okay shape - Just some stolen personal items.
