I got a Ute Ltd bed for my Frontier!

I have been considering getting a flatbed for my Frontier for some time but wasn't able to justify the price. By luck I came across a Craigslist ad for on Lopez Island, about 2 hours and a ferry ride from my house. On to the pics:

^ What I started out with.

^ The bed off the truck, and my 2 friends.

^ The bed mocked up on my truck, I also removed the roof rack.

So, as with every project, there is a hang up. There are steel cross bars that mount to the stock bed bolt locations. These crossbars have tabs that mount into the ute bed. The bars that come with the kit are too narrow for me frame, so they are at the welders getting extended tonight. Not that big of a deal but I really want to get this project done!

^ Another shot

Thanks for all the kind words. The install is moving along slowly. I had to have the cross members lengthened and the weather is slowing me as well. One thing I don not like is how high the bed sits now. I will take some pictures once the rain stops to illustrate. The Frontier's frame dips behind the cab and the fuel tank obstructs the cross members so I have to lift the entire assembly to clear it. I'll take a picture of that as well.

As far as plans go, I am not sure yet. I need to get some tool boxes mounted eventually to secure my gear. I would one day like to get a FWC setup, but with the bed so high I fear the COG would prove problematical.

:26_7_2: Looking good!

How much higher is the bed compare to stock? I've been toying the idea of getting a flat bed but not sure how much it will raise the bed floor.
