i had looked around under it while working on the lift and noticed that we do in-fact have all the skid plates that the Renegade was supposed to have, and somewhat functional factory rock rails.

we'll want real rock rails eventually that you can pivot off of, but nice to know i can come down on a little ledge without destroying the rocker panels.

should be finishing up the rear portion of the lift today and then getting tires friday.

we still need front tow hooks and a compressor. we can get everything else from my WJ when we need to (rear receiver shackle, tools, bug-out-bag, tow rope, deflators, etc.)

after we get some of the basics to keep in this rig, one of our first upgrades will be a real rook basket so we have room for stuff on trips. currently i like the look of the Gecko Basket Rack from RockLizard, but it's a little pricey. my understanding is that the factory roof rails are really week - anyone know if that is all years, or just the 02-04?

hard to beat RockLizards roof rack if you are looking for one that will last
strong, well built, and looks good

well the rear part of the lift went in smoothly today, like 1.5 hours - the front was a PITA due to some rusty bolts and took me half the weekend. tires friday, woot!

Good luck with that lift,
make sure you get some Teraflex bumpstops in the front,
it will help it last a little bit longer.

Poly , they work great and will help keep the front shocks lasting a while longer
can order from teraflex or from jeepinbyal

thanks. i may get the extensions from rocky-road instead then. i prefer the softer progressive nature of the factory foam stops to the more abrupt poly stuff. the teraflx would certainly be simpler though...

in the rear i may just use hocky pucks.

I would stay away from the "Rocky Road junk", with theirs it requires you drill through the UCA to bolt it on, not a good setup at all. The teraflex are just about the same as stock and easy to replace.

i don't see anything wrong with the rocky road approach except the time to install, but since i'm lazy and know that i'll have to eventually replace the control arms - i went with the teraflex stops ;)
