You my friend are my next best Hero!!!!
Love the look of your truck.

I did the absolute same thing in my mind with getting my 2015 base 4x4 5-spd access cab.
Silver too.... I had reg cabs before but really needed the room and storage. Couldn't afford the 4dr, well I could but fiance
and I just got our first home, getn hitch next month too. So I needed to kind of lower my monthly expenses and such.
Turns out I could get a base AC with Conv and Utility packages for almost 23 even, So I went with the 2015 versus an older OffRoad model or anything.

Love the 235s on there also. You may have swayed me to put some on my truck.
Discount Tire has a pretty good credit going on trading in almost new Dunlops off your Tacoma.
Well, at least here locally.

I am digging the 255s on the F-5 rims,

This is great info: Thanks a ton!
The F5s with 33s weigh less than steelies with 31s. I think the 255s have the perfect proportions with the 4.5” BS.

Did you leave your TPMS intact with new sensors or what?

I first saw his on TW, then found it here.

I think the 2.7 has a secret love for 255/85/R16s and a re-gear, hahaha

Some day I shall do this to mine.

Love it. So simple and clean, and with quality parts too.

I wanted to build a Tacoma almost exactly like this, but up here Tacoma prices are at least 5-7k more than Utah or Colorado, and I stumbled onto a deal of a first gen Tundra.

Thanks! Yeah, prices are insane. I didn't really want to pay new car prices for a truck with 100K on it. ha

Nice looking build!

Do you know what rack/awning is on the back of your buddy's truck in that picture? Looking to do the same thing on my rig and still trying to figure out which direction to go...

He's got a Frontrunner Slimline rack, and a CVT awning. He's Defconbrix here and on Tacomaworld if you want more info.

I think I'll probably end up going with a Frontrunner rack as well, they look so awesome.

Looks great! I'm persuaded towards tall and skinny more every day...

Do it! I'm loving it. The only time I've regretted it was in super deep snow. Felt like I wasn't floating enough - but that might have also just been because the rear end was so light. In regular snow, though, they're great. The 235s were really skinny, but 255s really aren't that bad. I love the extra height you get over a 285/75r16. Plus you don't have to trim anything, nothing rubs.

Thanks dude! Yeah, I think if you're planning on modding it, a base model is a great truck to start with. I found out the hard way that the F5 wheels only work with alloy wheel TPMS sensors - since I had steel, I just had to leave the sensors in the old wheels and buy new ones. Mounting surface wasn't right.

The 235s are great - but in hindsight I should have lifted the truck first, then bought 255s. But if you want great offroad tires without lifting, 235s are the way to go.

10-4, Thanks...

The dealer texted me today. My truck is just a few days away and they did offer me a new set of Rugged Trail taker offs for 300,
I first said yes but then changed my mind b/c they don't have good reviews.

Besides I really want a set of the 235 tires b/c I realistically won't be lifting my truck for a few years.

Just got a house and getting married next month. Not sure if children are coming soon or not, lol...:av-7:
