Is it worth it?

Have the change to pick up a 2009 KLR 650, blue, with good tires for 3500$. Is that a good deal? Unsure on miles.

sounds good to me if bikes in good condition. You might be able to find an older one cheaper but you substituting cost for age.

I think I may be alittle short for a KLR? 5'8.

I'd rather have an older one, for less money.

Found a 1991 KLR, looks to be in great shape for $1800. Is that a good buy? Could I get my money back if I decided to sell?

I'm 5'6.5 and I ride my first gen KLR with no problems, but I've been riding for 30+ years. I'm used to it.

In My area KLR's come up for sale a lot and you can get a nicely kitted one in the price ranges that you listed for both bikes.

The 1991 is pretty old in my opinion, but if it's been well maintained it could be okay.

It's always so hard to say what something is really worth when dealing with used bikes.

In the end it's probably going to just be a gut decision.

klrs are awesome bikes. Make sure that 2009 is doesnt suffer from the common oil burning issues.
I have a 2003 and have no complaints with my bike.
