wow!!! That's pretty amazing...I guess it all depends on how many krona you're paid, though, right? Is 28000 krona a normal wage for about a months worth of work? that's pretty normal for an starting wage at my company. A doctor would make about 74-84,000 krona per month, or about $10-12000.00 USD.

So, other than Mercedes parts, what do things cost? A starbucks coffee, a head of lettuce, container of milk, etc?

incomes are a bit higher than you assume, myself and my wife works as engineers, and around 40-45 000NOK monthly are normal i think.
I coffe can be around 25-30 NOK ( USD 3,80 1l of lmilk around 13 NOK ( USD 2 ) but cigarettes and alcohol are pretty steep.
Expect USD 15 for 20 cigarettes, USD 4,5 for 1/2 litre of beer at a grocery store, and around USD 2 for 1 litre of petrol :bike_rider:

Still we have good sosial security system, good schooles and fresh air / lovly nature are for free. At least for now.......

Very interesting! Thanks for the info, and yeah, I agree Norway, and scandinavia in general (what I've seen of it, anyways) is very, very beautiful.

Where will oversized tyrest rub on a XJ ?
My goal is +2" suspension, and as large tyres as possible. I aim for 32" tyres at least. I will mount external flares, but my aim is to use as little lift as possible.

I am willing to use both torch and sledgehammer on the body to gain space for tires, but do anyone have links to similar projects ?

Little late but some input about the flares, I have a buddy running napier presiscions and he bangs off of quie a bit and they have held up great. right now theyr'e are having a sale and you can get a set of four for around $365 which is a ton cheaper then bushwackers. Bushwacker is also holding a rebate about $50 on there flat flares, but there pocket style flares are still quite expensive. In my opinion I would check out napier right about now and see if there stil doing there sale. The bushwackers are pretty rugged as I see a lot of people run those without too much problems.

are XJ`s equipped with different battery sizes ?

Bougth a battery apx 270mm long today, acc to batty manufactorers list, but it sems to be much longer than standard battery.
Standard battery box is about 250mm long.

Ar theese cars delivered with different batteries ?

What brands can be recomended ? Are any sold in the US, delivered as " loose parts "; designed to be easy to ship in parcel ?

My preferred brand is in alu, but rather expensive...

Question: can anyone estimate how much time workshop will use to change rear right wheel bearing ?
Bearing is shot, have 1-2 mm play on tire. Rather unplesent when driving my caravan ( almost ended upside down ... )

I wouldn't think more than a couple hours. If you have the d35 or corporate 8.25 rear axle


-remove tires
-remove brake drums
-Pull differential cover
-drain differential fluid
-pull c-clips off differential end of axle shafts
-pull axles out of axle housing
-Use bearing puller to pull bearing out of axle housing being care full of axle seal
-install new bearing and/or axle seal that you ripped accidentally..D)
-Reverse de-install steps.
-seal up diff cover, allow rtv to set
-fill with diff fluid.

maybe 2-3 hours for a shop? I personally wouldn't pay anyone if I could rent or borrow the correct tools.

Front unit bearings take a bit more work, but there's excellent videos on youtube for reference
