Jeep TJ Storage "What would you do"

I bought one of these Tuffy security enclosures:

Basically it uses the rear Jeep door to secure/lock items in. Even with the Jeep top off, the items should be safe. (Within reason)

I've been very happy with it. I have a few small rubbermaid tubs with gear in them and a bag with recovery straps, tress savers, ect. For the price it was about the best bolt in option I could find at the time.

Any idea if you can still use a Bestop Toneau cover over the top?

When I had a TJ I put a piece of 7/8" plywood across the whole tub, bolted through where the hard-top holes are, with climbing bolt anchors on top for tie-downs. The space below is high enough for a big cooler, bulk propane tank, etc. and keeps everything hidden and in one place which is good with a soft top.

Unfortunately I can't find any convenient photos but its not hard to imagine. The complicated bit was making the cut-outs for the seatbelt covers and sizing the front-back dimension to squeeze in through the side, diagonally between the roll cage bars.

On my LJ I found that a cheap Staples plastic drawer works really well for camp cooking stuff and would well for other relatively light things too. It occupies almost half the width between the wheel wells (the other half being occupied by a fridge) and is the almost the same height so a thin piece of plywood on top makes for a convenient platform.

You could always make a box that bolts on to your swing away tire carrier. Mine has tons of room for that. The other idea that I have seen and really liked is to take a jerry can and make a door so that you can open it and store stuff inside- mount this to the outside of your jeep. Or, get an LJ, or do a stretch :)

Good stuff....I have been doing some hard core thinking over the weekend.

I have the idea in my head but just have yet to put it into action.

Keep the pictures coming.... All these ideas are helping a bunch.

Hope yall are having a good weekend.
