I know Toolman mentioned something similar, but I was sitting here thinking "Wouldnt it be a whole lot easier to just widen the fenders that you already have than build an entire new axle?"

Yes and no, I have plenty axle tubing laying around the shop and spindles arent overly expensive. I came across some of the wheels i wanted fairly cheap so i decided to use them and it gave me the look i wanted.:coffeedrink::coffeedrink:

Man i forgot about this thread here are a few pics all wired up and gas cans mounted the mods will continue but for now shell work great for my upcoming trip

Love your build

Is there anyway you could post a bunch of pictures detailing how you constructed and mounted your lid? WOuld be greatly appreciated........is it watertight?

the lid is 1 x 2 ill take some pics of it for you. the lid will be weathertight once i finish with the weatherstripping

That would look great behind my rig :) Looks like the exact same 305/70/17 old style non-kevlar MT/Rs! Very well done!

I have an extra set waiting to go on my lifetime tent trailer, just need to build (well, OK, purchase) an axle.

Your thread did convince me to go with spacers on my hubs though... the spindle sticking out is not a good look with the high-offset wheels.

yeah im not sold on the rims either so i might go back to the original set i have for it

Nice build.

I love the idea of dead bolts for the trailer locks. Are you concerned about getting dust into the tumblers?

Also what is the brand and model number for those lift struts on the lid?
