JKE Dock-style Ram Mount bar for XJ?

Does anyone make something like Vector Offroad's JKE Dock (http://www.vectoroffroad.com/jke-dock-p-28.html) for the XJ?

If not, has anyone tried building their own? If so, where did you attach it?

I really like the idea of having my phone, tablet and potentially a CB mounted to a bar rather than everything suction cupped to the windshield or dash. So, if nobody else has attempted this I'll starting planning my own.

Have you looked around on NAXJA? People have mounted tablets/computers in many different ways. One of the most popular is utilizing the passenger seat mounting bolt for the bracket. There are also many aftermarket non-XJ specific mounts that can work well... Personally I plan on fabricating a bracket with a ram mount on it that will work to this effect http://www.the4x4podcast.com/rammount ... just a bit more beefy.

Here's a link to a DIY:

Thanks for the feedback. I have looked around NAXJA and Jeep Forum a bit, and I know RAM makes a floor mount for the Cherokee which uses the passenger seat mounting bolts. The problem I see with a lot of those solutions is a) it affects my passenger/navigator and b) they seem to take up a lot of space. I could mount each piece of equipment in custom mounts or pods. However, finding (or making) something like the JKE Dock is appealing because it'll be reconfigurable, expandable, and modular.

Sounds like a great idea to me! I would love to see what you come up with. I've been fiddling with ideas for mounting my tablet and radio in the XJ for quite some time now. I was planning to build a mount like the 4x4podcast link I provided earlier. Then I would do something similar on the other side for my radio... but I am really liking the flexibility that your goal would provide.
