JKR skid plate FAIL

It looks like his tire was on top of that rock and the rock in front. Then with a little wheelspin, he split the rocks and the back on lifted up and he fell back into the hole.
I was being overly feisty this morning. I wasn't trying to rustle feathers and apologize if that happened. I like my JK despite some of its flaws, its taken me to some pretty sweet places in the 9 months and 19500 miles I've had it and I'm not ready to make it a commuting queen because I've had some close calls in it. That is just part of off roading and is a risk we take by even pulling it out of the garage.
The Odds of this happening again, are indeed very slim.. I do realize this. My original statement can attest to this. The odds are more like 1mil to 1. not 12 to 1. 
It is however a design flaw. look at any 2014 JK. there is a section of skidplate missing above the cross member near the frame rail that there is NO need for. A few extra inches of steel would have fixed this. This spot is directly behind the front right tire. Lot's of stuff will be thrown in that direction. I already have a welding shop looking at this and I will have some custom skid plates fabricated to cover any weak spots I can think of. And I was also kidding about the pavement queen.. With as capable as these Rubicons are, it is very easy for us to forget sometimes that they are Stock vehicles and should be treated as such. A few mods make em a beast.
