45K wouldn't even buy the parts. These are all new hand built 4x4's. I've inspected a few and I will say that the asking price is right on. All of those top shelf parts, custom pieces, all the detail, think about it. Do you really think these guys are trying to mark up the product that much? That would be stupid, you'll make more $$ in volume. Give Poison Spyder Customs a call and get a quote on a turn key Bruiser. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that installing a more exotic engine would drive the cost up even more.

Now I'd pay the money for this rig!

I wonder if the windshield wipers are an extra option? :shakin:

I would rather pay for the Icon than that. Is it just me or does anybody else think about how big of a PIA one of those would be, re-adjusting the suspension every few weeks and constantly screwing with all the custom parts to make them work right? It seems really counter-productive to custom make a vehicle unless you have a trailer to tow it on or have a big fab shop with the skills to do your own work.

At least the Icon has pretty basic parts, leaf sprung, reliable diesel and for a custom rig would probably be 'reliable'.

I fail to find value in a vehicle unless it can last 10+ years with minimal maintenence.

Now I never said it didn't look cool though:)

The FJ48 is the same rig I posted earlier.

I'd venture to guess that this truck is every bit as reliable as the ICON in every way. All of that trick suspension and custom parts are TOP NOTCH quality. I could easily see 10+ years of low maintenance wheeling from a rig like that. And I would also venture to guess that the ride quality on the 48 is WAY better than the ride of the leaf sprung front AND rear ICON.

But that's just my two cents.

I'm mostly with you on the ride quality (depending on the design of the leaves), but most of those fab-types insist on using SRE's so I'm not seeing much more than a year of real use b4 parts replacement is needed on the suspension linkage.

Don't need wipers b/c no owner would want it getting wet. Think of the DAYS of labor they've have to pay someone for to get it clean underneath!
