It's been THREE WEEKS without a trail run. I think I'm  :violent-smiley-031: :peepwall: :xxrotflma :littlefriend:

OK...I need a run. Chiva Falls is it. We're gonna run to the Falls and back. We'll go alone or with a thousand. We gotta run! We're bringing the 100-series Cruiser, "Roklimo", so we can glide over the rocks. Spilling Starbucks isn't cheap!

MEETING TIME: 9:30 AM (in case some Phoenicians drive down...come on...you know you wanna)

MEETING PLACE: McDonalds at the Reddington Road turnoff (just as Tanque Verde Road ends)(more detail if needed)

TRIP DURATION: 4-5 hours

TRIP DIFFICULTY: 3.0 with harder choices if desired

BRUSH: Little

On our way out of the Falls, time permitting, some can opt to climb the wild hill that goes to above the Falls and return. We'll not drive all the way to "above the Falls". Just up the hill and down which is a challenge all it's own.

Open to all rigs. Come on out and see the green!

Dude....uh.....so, uh.....yea.

Nothing like planning ahead is there?

:wavey:

It's just too bad when you quote a post, it doesn't include the title of the thread....'cause now when John sees what he did and changes it, my post won't make sense anymore.

Chivo Saturday

John looks like Helen and I should be able to make that one, both jeeps. See you at McD's.

We went up to Chiva falls last night(9/18) to pull a stuck Jeep out.

It was so nice to get in the jeep after a day of work and hit the trail.

Got everyone out OK, Brakes went out on the Jeep after the line snagged on a rock, then the Jeep got tipsy on a hill.

Chiva falls is one of my all time favorite trails.

There is quite a bit of cell coverage up there. I have made more than one mid-week phone call from that area to taunt buddies who are stuck at work. :sombrero:

I'd like to make it to this run but I have two questions for you all. What is a 3.0 trail for you guys and what would you consider the minimum vehicle requirements? Thanks.

I am going to need some directions to the McDonalds at the Reddington Road turnoff.

Since my mount caught fire, I do not have a GPS at this time...

Way Cool, too bad it's last minute. Chiva is a fun trail. Done it 2 or 3 times in my Libby. With all the rain this year the creek should make for a fun crossing, but worth it because there will probably be lots of water at the falls. Husker, not sure how much clearance you have underneath, but you can measure up against mine. I hit the skids quite a few times. Some good spotting and you shouldn't have to many problems. Have a great trip.

Wil, Here's what I got off Mapquest for the Mickey Ds at Tanque Verde and Grant. That's the one I think that's the closest to Reddington Road.

7: Merge onto I-10 E via the exit on the LEFT toward GLOBE / TUCSON. 107.1 miles Map

8: Take EXIT 256 toward GRANT RD. 0.3 miles Map

9: Stay STRAIGHT to go onto N FREEWAY RD. <0.1 miles Map

10: Turn LEFT onto W GRANT RD. 8.4 miles Map

11: Turn LEFT onto E TANQUE VERDE RD. 3.2 miles Map

12: End at Mc Donald's
