LED strip / ribbon lights

So I am interested in using some 5050 LEDs for some lighting in my room. I've been playing with a roll of 3528 white and blue for a current pc build, and I'd love to use this stuff instead of conventional light bulbs. They are way cheap, way brighter, and color control is pretty awesome.

The 5050LED, can you turn it white? Does it do any/every color, or just Red, Green, Blue? Or rgb and shades of such (ie magenta, cyan, yellow)?

Walmart has little 12v strips in various lengths and colors.
I bought a pair of red and a pair of white for my teardrop galley; the RV light they had installed was at eye-level and blinded me.
I also had an LED gizmo light that I had tinted yellow for the Conqueror; I mounted that over the stove.

The two whites and one red come on with their own switch for general illumination.
The yellow task light has its own switch.
And one red light has its own switch for a nightlight. They use almost no power and were super inexpensive.
I didn't need/want a whole stinkload of light ----- I have other lights for that....
