Lid seal material?

What are you guys using as a lip "seal" for your trailer lids? More specifically, where are you getting it iat a reasonable price?

I would prefer a 1"> wide adhesive backed strip.

Any leads?

Is that what you use for your trailers? What size and how much of a gap between lid/body have you found to be best over time?

I simply ran a thick bead of clear silicone along the edges of my lid. I had heard that the foam stuff tired quickly and became ineffective, or that it didn't stay put very well.

I also used silicon to adhere the diamondplate sheet that forms the top of my lid to the crossbeams supporting it, to minimize vibrations and rattle.

It has held up surprisingly well, I think.
